Enjoy a boat ride in Blue Hill Bay and explore the tide-pools
of an uninhabited island. Marine ecology activities
and wildlife observations are featured in this educational
program. $30

Island Explorer 2:
Learn island ecology, identify marine life using field
guides, and discover the intricate food web of Blue
Hill Bay aboard the RV MERI on this field excursion.
Participants will explore lobster traps, observe marine
mammals and birds, and visit an undeveloped coastal
island while learning about their natural environment.

Ages 10-16
Island Explorer 3:
Looking closely at wildlife, island ecology, and marine
research methods, participants get an in-depth look
at coastal habitats. Lobster biology, rocky intertidal
zonation, and water chemistry are all incorporated into
this valuable educational experience. $40
Thursdays, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Island Excursion (all ages; children
under 16 must be accompanied by an adult)
Tuesdays and Saturdays, 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Enjoy a ride aboard the RV MERI to an area island and
learn about Maine’s coastal habitats. Pull lobster
traps, explore intertidal zones, and observe marine
wildlife in their habitats on this unique island adventure.
