Marine Discovery Programs Around the Community
MERI Schedule of Summer
Field Trips
Late June to Early September
(No Programs on July 4)
Mondays
Eco-cruise
(All ages; children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult)
3:00 to 5:00 PM Adults $40, children (under 16) $20
Enjoy the beauty of Maine’s coast with a MERI naturalist onboard the RV MERI. Learn about Maine’s famous Northern Lobster and harvesting techniques used to catch them. Common sightings include seals, seabirds, bald eagles, and porpoises.
Island Excursion (Ages 2 and up; children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult)
10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Adults $60, children (under 16) $40
Enjoy a ride aboard the RV MERI to an area island and learn about Maine’s coastal habitats. Participants will pull lobster traps, observe local wildlife, and explore a pristine coastal Maine island.
Tuesdays
Island Explorer (Ages 6-12) 10 am- 2pm
Explore the tide pools of an uninhabited island and investigate marine habitats. Learn about birds and marine mammals, while discovering the intricate food web of Blue Hill Bay. $40

Ocean Classes for Kids (Ages 6 and up)
1:30 PM to 3:30 PM $20
Explore the marine environment through field walks, outdoor adventures, hands-on science experiments, games and crafts. Make new friends while netting creatures along the shore, discovering hidden trails, and sharing close up encounters with tidepool animals.

All trips leave from Town Dock on Naskeag Point in Brooklin.
MERI's research vessel R/V MERI is also available for special
